The Second Annual Barrington RI Firefighters Memorial Day Weekend 5k Road Race is an event to raise money for Local 1774 and the Barrington RI Firefighters Charity Fund. The Charity Fund provides money in the form of sponsorships, scholarships and donations to various community groups in and around the town of Barrington, RI. The race is open to runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels.
Sunday May 30, 2010. Race day registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Race starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. • On-Line registration thru May 28th: $20 • Mail-In registration Postmarked by May 21st: $23 • Race day registration until 9:45 AM: $25 For further information please visit www.barringtonrifire.com * The flat and fast 5k (3.1 mile) course has been accurately measured by Ray Nelson, and will be race wil be professionally timed.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: Junior (17 and under) Open (18– 39) Master (40-59) Veteran (60+) Overall Top Firefighters * All participants will be eligible and entered into a raffle. Participants and the public will be able to purchase additional raffle ticks on race day. All raffle prizes have been donated by our sponsors.
T-Shirts will be provided to the first 200 registered participants. Refreshments donated by our sponsors will be available before and after the race. Awards will be presented after the race.

5K Road Race/walk Details: 5K (3.1 mile) Run – The Run will be professionally timed by The Dave Wilbur Professional Race Timing Company.
Course Certification: The course will be professionally measured by Ray Nelson.
Date: Sunday May 30, 2010
Time: The race will start promptly at 10 am
Entry Fee: $20 electronic pre-registration; $ 23 mail-in registration (forms received May 20th); and $25 race day registration (event day registration 8:00am till 9:45am).
Start & Finish: Barrington High School, 220 Lincoln Ave, Barrington, RI 02806.
Course: The course travels along the following roads: Lincoln Avenue, Upland Way, Barrington Avenue, Foote Street, Prince's Hill Avenue, Maple Avenue and Middle Highway.
The 5K run/walk is open to the public. Runners of all levels are encouraged to participate.
Prizes: Prizes donated by our sponsors will be given the to top male and female finishers overall. Individual awards will be given to the top three males and females in the following age groups:
Junior (under 17)
Open (18– 39)
Master (40-59)
Veteran (60+)
Overall Top Firefighter
* All participants will be eligible for raffle prizes
Post event festivities include runners' raffle, music/DJ, refreshments, professional booths, and even a few surprises.

Mail-in registration is $23
Event-day registration is $25 (8:00am till 9:45am 05/30/10).
Free parking will be available at Barrington High School, and refreshments donated by sponsors will be available before and after the race.
The first 200 registered participants will receive an official Barrington RI Firefighters Memorial Day Weekend 5K T-shirt.
